HYDRA
Maximize the value of your existing investment
Converting existing cooling systems to Eco-Friendly refrigerants
Reduce freon usage by up to 90%
Now is the perfect opportunity to upgrade older cooling systems by adding the HYDRA solution that can reduce Freon consumption by up to 90%
For a long time, the only option was to completely replace Freon systems — a costly and complex process. Now, however, Kæling offers significantly more affordable and simpler alternatives. These solutions are Hybrid F/A systems, or hybrid solutions, where a small part of the system continues to use Freon for the initial cooling process, but the main cooling is transferred to an ammonia-water mixture using glycol-based coolants.
The ammonia mixture is pumped through closed-loop circuits wherever cooling is needed. This approach reduces the amount of Freon required for each system by up to 90%, while at the same time making the system safer, more cost-effective, and more environmentally friendly.
The advantages are considerable: the risk of Freon leaks is drastically minimized and localized, immediate savings are realized through increased cooling efficiency, and Freon purchases are likely to become a thing of the past for the next decade — along with strong positive impacts on environmental sustainability.
Cooling solutions for whole fish
At seafood processing facilities that receive whole, unprocessed catch, seawater coolers and slurry ice machines are typically used during the early stages of production.
Cooling provides both off-the-shelf and customized cooling solutions to ensure superior cooling performance for whole catch operations.

Tailored cooling solutions to meet the needs of every seafood processing plant.
Operating conditions can differ significantly between locations. Kæling therefore provides tailored solutions that are adapted to the unique environment and specific requirements of each client.
Seawater Coolers
Chilled seawater is highly effective in maintaining the correct temperature of the catch at every stage, from landing through to the start of storage cooling.
Seawater cooling systems can be equipped with multiple outlets, each providing chilled seawater at different temperatures tailored to the specific stages of processing. This ensures optimal cooling at every step and maximizes the quality of the catch.
Proper cooling slows down bacterial growth and reduces enzymatic activity, helping to preserve freshness and product integrity.

RSW - Refrigerated Seawater system
All the same benefits as conventional seawater coolers with multiple outlets providing seawater at different temperatures — but with significantly lower energy consumption.
Seawater that has passed through parts of the processing or catch handling stages is filtered and purified before being returned to the cooling spirals and then recirculated for use.
In this way, the chilled seawater is reused repeatedly, requiring far less energy to maintain the correct temperature compared to systems that continuously draw in fresh seawater.
This environmentally friendly approach can deliver a rapid return on investment.
Slurry Ice Machines
Slurry ice envelops the entire catch, ensuring faster, more even and efficient cooling compared to traditional flake ice.
Surface blemishes caused by the uneven cooling of flake ice are effectively eliminated.
Slurry ice can also be easily pumped through pipelines to wherever it is needed, whether to single or multiple locations onboard vessels or at land-based facilities.

Slurry Ice Storage Tanks
Slurry ice storage tanks provide an efficient solution for meeting high demand for slurry ice over short periods, exceeding the production capacity of slurry ice machines.
The tanks are equipped with agitators to prevent the separation of seawater and ice. At one end of the tank, a slurry ice pump is installed.
The system operates automatically: when the slurry ice valve is opened, the pump starts running, and it stops automatically when the valve is closed.
Flake Ice Machines
Flake ice is an effective and versatile cooling solution for many applications.
Cooling provides a range of high-quality, reliable flake ice machines, available in various sizes and models to suit different operational requirements.

Fresh Water Cooling System
Freshwater coolers are essential for fish processing factories that need to maintain precise and stable water temperatures during production.
Seasonal changes and fluctuating water supplies can cause temperature variations, which could lead to a decline in product quality. By using freshwater cooling systems, factories can ensure that water remains at the ideal processing temperature at all times, improving consistency, efficiency, and overall product quality.
New advanced control system
New advanced control system upgrades to improve control and reliability in older Cooling systems
Quick remote diagnosis and support with the new control system
Cooling has developed a highly reliable and precise electronic control system, which is included with all new cooling solutions and can also be retrofitted to older Cooling systems.
All new cooling equipment from Cooling comes with an advanced electronic control system that is also compatible with older equipment.
The new control system enables remote service capabilities, allowing issues to be diagnosed without the need for Cooling’s service team to visit the site.
Performance is managed with much greater precision, resulting in significantly improved energy efficiency.
Accurate diagnostics and load management enhance operational reliability and extend the lifespan of equipment, which has already proven to exceed 15 years.
Upgrading to the new advanced control system delivers a fast return on investment.
The new control system offers far more precise temperature settings and much more accurate control over openings and closings than previously possible.
This results in more stable temperatures, significant energy savings, detailed system status logging, and access to remote service and monitoring.
Take a confident step toward greater savings with Cooling.
Air temperature control for processing areas
Air temperature control in processing rooms plays a vital role in ensuring quality and efficiency in fish and food processing.
Cooling offers comprehensive solutions, from setting up the rooms to ensuring that the correct temperature is maintained — even with the movement of staff and equipment through the area.

Cold and Freezer Storage Solutions — From Small Rooms to Large Facilities
Cooling equipment and storage solutions are selected to match the operational needs at each site. At the same time, it is important to choose systems that not only support future growth but are also economically efficient, offering a relatively short return on investment.
Through close collaboration, we deliver solutions that help companies achieve their goals for growth, product quality, and operational efficiency.
