The KI-10TF is a flake ice machine with a production capacity of 10 tons per day with the best energy efficiency available. Up to 28% less electricity consumption in the production of each ton of flake ice compared to other machines. This machine is smaller in physical size but has the same performance as larger machines. High-quality and reliable flake ice machines that withstand the stress and requirements for more economical operation.
It is possible to choose whether the flake ice machine comes with:
New equipment that transforms older refrigeration systems into environmentally friendly solutions.
Kæling now offers Hydra, a multi-purpose refrigeration system designed to integrate with older refrigeration systems and reduce the use of outdated, environmentally harmful refrigerants by up to 90%, while requiring significantly less energy to deliver the same cooling performance.
Environmentally harmful refrigerants such as Freon are reduced to a very limited, contained part of the refrigeration system. The Freon remains only within the core of the system, while the cooling is transferred to environmentally friendly secondary refrigerants such as glycol through heat exchanger technology. The glycol is the fluid that flows through pipes and cooling coils to the locations where the actual cooling takes place.

Hydra can be connected to all older refrigeration systems from Kæling, as well as many systems from other manufacturers.
Freon reduced by up to 90%
Freon is confined to the core of the refrigeration system, while the cooling is transferred to environmentally friendly secondary refrigerants such as glycol through heat exchanger technology. The glycol is the fluid that flows through pipes and cooling coils to the locations where the actual cooling takes place.
Better cooling with up to 30% less energy
Hydra delivers better cooling while using up to 30% less energy than before. Cooling performance is also improved in areas such as cooling coils, where ice build-up is significantly reduced.
Leak risk minimised
The risk of damage caused by leaks is minimised. The risk associated with Freon leaks is limited to a very confined area, and with proper monitoring it is possible to respond immediately and prevent damage. If a glycol leak occurs, the cost is significantly lower, and glycol cannot cause the same type of damage, for example by harming the catch, as food-grade glycol is used in around 90% of the system.
Short installation time
Hydra is designed for fast installation. Everything is arranged efficiently so that Hydra takes up little space and is easy to install. The solution is largely standardised, with only a small part needing to be adapted to each vessel or site. A typical conversion time is two weeks.
Improved use of existing investments and lower costs
Instead of replacing the entire system, much of the existing investment can be retained while making the system far more cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
Hydra can deliver a fast payback
By choosing Hydra from Kæling, companies are not only taking an important step in environmental matters and significantly reducing the operational risk associated with Freon systems. The main operational benefit, however, lies in much lower energy consumption. It is common for energy use to be reduced by up to 50% while maintaining comparable cooling performance.
A unique way to maximise the value of existing investments, reduce operational risk, and lower operating costs.
Examples of Hydra applications
For hold refrigeration with air coolers or cooling coils
Whether air coolers or cooling coils are used in fish holds, Hydra is highly suitable for both methods. Regardless of which hold cooling method is used, Hydra transforms the operation of older systems.
