Insulation Monitoring Devices \u2013 IMDs are designed to detect insulation faults in vessel electrical systems. Their primary function is to identify developing insulation faults at an early stage, allowing corrective action to be taken before the fault leads to serious equipment damage, unplanned downtime, or a safety risk.<\/p>\n

Insulation faults in vessel electrical systems can cause extensive damage to the vessel itself, machinery, and other onboard equipment. We have seen cases where small electrical systems, considered harmless, have caused serious insulation faults.
